Kids Snowboarding goes to the Beach

The fun of kids snowboarding doesn’t have to stop just because the snow is gone. At Burton, we’re always finding creative ways to keep the excitement of snowboarding going year round. That’s why our our friends at Blue Mountain Resort, with the help of our Burton Ontario crew, took Riglet Snowboarding to the beach.

Burton Kids Snowboarding at the Beach

Located at the Blue Mountain Beach on the shores of Georgian Bay near Collingwood, families came out to try their hand at kids snowboarding.  Kids were pulled through a beach style, Riglet course complete with balance boards and park features. Despite the texture of the sand, the Burton Riglet board slid smoothly across the surface to give each kid an authentic experience. Our Burton Riglet Board is a youth snowboard toy designed with no edges for indoor and outdoor use.

“It was really well received by all the guests. They loved having something fresh and different, that also got them in the winter spirit.” -Joe Barron, Blue Mountain

Create your own kids snowboarding experience

You don’t have to wait for an event to try kids snowboarding! Burton Riglet boards are available online and at your local snowboard shop. The Riglet Board is a great tool for getting your kids used to standing on a board while moving, without having to strap their feet in. You can take it to the beach and setup your own obstacle course. Use it on the grass in your backyard or inside on a carpet. You can also use it on wood and linoleum floors with the addition of the Burton Hover Cover.

If you plan to visit or live in Ontario this coming winter, don’t forget to check out Blue Mountain’s Riglet Park and kids snowboarding lesson program. It’s a great way for your child to get the coaching they need so your family can enjoy snowboarding together. If you’re in the area during the rest of the summer season, check in with Blue Mountain because rumor has it, they’ll be leaving their Riglet Boards down on the beach for your family to play with.
